Ellen McCurley, MSW,LCSW,MPH
Ellen is one of the founders of The Pendulum Project, a non profit organization established in 2001 with offices in Boston and Malawi. As Executive Director, Ellen heads up efforts to support and strengthen grassroots organizations assisting children in AIDS affected regions of sub-Saharan Africa. Pendulum provides these community groups with resources- medical care, small grants, training and technical equipment.
Before starting The Pendulum Project, Ellen worked for over 15 years as a business and marketing executive for various companies including Thunder House, a division of McCann Erickson Worldwide Advertising and Extraprise.
Ellen co-founded the Donovan Group, an Inc. 500 advertising agency where she headed up new business development and client services for a diverse client base comprised of Fortune 500 and high technology companies. She has served as a board member, advisor and fundraising volunteer for several US humanitarian non-profit organizations devoted to women and children and the AIDS effort. She has produced two documentaries on the AIDS pandemic in Malawi. She is a Licensed Social Worker and has a Master’s degree in Public Health from Boston University.
